Albert II WTW Process Enhancement

Yorkshire Water is the 5^th largest water company in England / Wales, responsible for serving 4.7 million people in an area in the northeast of the UK, including major cities such as Leeds and York.

Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies were responsible for the project management, design, engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of the mechanical and electrical plant for the dissolved air flotation (DAF) process units and two-stage media filtration.

The three-stage process is designed to remove colour, iron and manganese, utilising DAF process technology developed in-house by Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies.

Plant scope included low lift pumping station, flocculation, dissolved air flotation, two stage rapid gravity filters, filter transfer pumps, washwater recovery, chemical storage, handling and dosing facility and advanced Data Acquisition System.
